Furnishing a home is not simply placing some pieces of furniture where they are needed, but choosing them according to your taste, combining them and arranging them functionally, trying to make it nice by buying other essential elements. And there is one piece of furniture that can give a sense of completeness and “fullness” that contributes to the harmony of the whole of the rooms: the curtains.

Every home has its curtains, which have to fit the type of environment and the rest of the furniture: be it light or heavy fabric, from the traditional white to pastel colors. When we clean our house, we often ignore the curtains. After all, we do not even have to wash them since they do not get soiled easily, but there comes a time in which we must do it, because dirt gathers there, they get yellow, they fade or simply they smell bad.

And if light-colored curtains can always be put in the washing machine and washed at low temperatures, the problem comes when we own delicate curtains that are hard to treat. 

Before knowing which washing mode you have to use, start from an essential element: the fabric, each one of which has different characteristics and therefore requires a specific washing cycle. You do not necessarily have to go to your laundry’s or use aggressive detergents: it is better to steal from the wisdom of your grandmothers to know some advices to clean the curtains naturally.
